Egerszalók is located among the foothills of the mountain Bükk, 6km from Eger and 120km from Budapest. The M3 motorway is 20km. It is a very quiet, small village with 1800 inhabitants: ideally suited for recreation and relaxation. Our team and services provide you with everything you might wish for.
The Hotel Shiraz has been built in the water-surrounded centre of the village. A creek runs from the hotel to the lake near to village. This creek comes from a mineral spring, which is also famous for its natural salt deposition. The pride of the village is the well-known Spa „Hőforrás”, which is open throughout the year, day and night. The spa is 1.5km from the hotel.
The „Hőforrás” Thermal spring
The thermal water contains natrium, calcium-magnesium, hydrogen-carbonates and silica. The quality of the thermal water is high; it is very high ranked among sulphur contained thermal waters. It is medically proven that, among other things, the water is well suited for post-treatment of bone injuries or rheumatism.
At foothill of the thermal spring, unique in Europe has been opened the Thermal and Wellness Bath Salt Hill Thermal Spa bath-complex with 1900 Sq m water surface, only 1300 meters from our hotel.
Although the area is under development and construction yet, the bath operates.
The Wine-country
Egerszalók is part of a historical wine region: the grapes for „Egri Bikavér” (Bloodbull), Zenit, Leányka, Muskotály (Muscatel) and Olaszrizling (Italian riesling) are grown here on a land of 600 hectares.
Among other excellent local winemakers, the St. Andrea winery of the renowned winemaker Dr György Lőrincz recieves guests in Egerszalók. 
Fishing, water sports
On the northern part of the village there is a big artificial reservoir (130 hectares). The original purpose is to keep rainwater off the village and to provide water for irrigation to settlements south from Egerszalók as well. However, the reservoir is well suited for fishing and different water sports as well.
